Vintage touches

This wonderful old trunk has seen plenty of use over its long lifespan resulting in knocks and blemishes as would be expected. There is a small area of the wooden top that is missing by the back right hand hinge. New bun feet have been added, the original ones were probably worn away from use. The top has some splitting in the wood, but this has obviously been like this for a very long time going by the dated paper (1807) which has been laid over the splits. The lock is missing as is common in items like this - keys often being mislaid resulting locks being removed. The leather strap that would hold the top from falling back has split - this could be replaced. All in all, this trunk carries its history well in a charming and appealing manner.
