Source for the Goose: A Year of Vintage Style Inspiration
Join me on a whistle-stop tour of some of my favourite images and scenes of 2023 at Source for the Goose. A captivating glimpse into my realm of vintage style inspiration, all conveniently curated in one place!
Looking back at my photos of the shop in January 2023, this unusual cupboard jumped out at me, as it did its new owner. As you can imagine this unique piece didn't stay long at Source for the Goose! It's rustic style sat well with a mix of old and new kitchenalia, and showcased the new design of mosaic rug from the Braided Rug Company.
In February, I was lucky to find this fabulous scrub top table with its original chippy paint and deep drawer. Can you imagine a table like this in your kitchen. The new owner could, and was pleased to provide a new home for this beauty. Don't forget to check our my latest furniture finds.
The month of March heralds spring and what better way to introduce this in your home than with some vintage pink and white china and of course some fabulously floppy tulips. I love sourcing vintage homewares for the shop, as I never know what I may find!
It's marvellous to look back at the year like this, and I can see that April brought some sunshine making it easy for me to display my vintage style garden finds in front of the shop. I love old watering cans and items that you can repurpose in the garden, adding a feature that you can enjoy when the garden isn't flowering.
I've just slipped this one in here, as May is one of my favourite months to get outside and this is my go-to happy place - Tiverton Canal in Devon.
Keeping with the garden theme in June, and spot the sweetest little hedgehog pot-hangers hiding among the display of flowerpots and planters at Source for the Goose.
Possibly one of my favourite displays of such pretty pastel vintage teapots and vases. I was fortunate to gather these on one of my truffling expeditions in July. Can you imagine something similar in your home on an old dresser?
In August I was so happy to give this tilt-top table a new lease of life with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It came to me in a very dilapidated state, but look how it turned out with a little love and my trusty paint brush.
On another truffling trip in September (I love that term, so felt I should use it again!), I found a bounty of kitchenalia and this huge green and white jug. A display finished off with one of the delightful jute table runners in Misty Blue. These are a best seller in the shop, and I think you can see why.
Wow! In October this 1950s retro kitchen cupboard had a very short stay at Source for the Goose. One of those items, I wished I could keep!
Christmas arrived in November at Source for the Goose, and I think these dear little ceramic gingerbread houses were top of my wish list this year!
And last but definitely not least, it was December. As you all know, its a special month at Source for the Goose, and like every year and I have enjoyed and appreciated your kindness and support of this small business.
So here I am, waving a very big thank you to you all.
