The Creation of a Virtual Chalk Paint Workshop - Who Fancies a Go?

Stay home and paint, seems to be the mantra for many and Chalk Paint sales have been unprecedented across the UK during Lockdown. This Sunday Source for the Goose was featured in Annie Sloan’s Stockist Sunday on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and that made me feel so proud to be a part of this wonderful company. The support for their stockist family is exemplary during lockdown and just think how many people have found an outlet for their creativity during these strange times.

As this week is mental health week, it’s also good to know that picking up a paint brush can help reduce stress and increase optimism therefore promoting good mental health. That can’t be a bad thing, right?

The eagle eyed among you will have spotted that Source for the Goose runs Chalk Paint workshops. It goes without saying that these face to face group sessions have been put on the back burner during this crisis. However, I am pleased to announce that I can offer a new way to have a go at painting a piece of furniture - Paint a Chair virtual sessions!

Trialling this involved a lot of laughs with friends whilst we figured out how to operate Zoom on laptop, tablet and phone. Making sure that those who weren't meant to be in view, stayed out of the way - how unprofessional when your husband wanders in asking for a cup of tea! But now I'm ready to roll, so read on to find out more...

Virtual Chalk Paint workshop

How does this work?

With one Project Pot of paint ( 120ml, colour of your choice), and the same of Clear Wax, you will need a small item such as a chair or bedside table, and access to the internet via laptop, tablet or phone. You could even involve a group of friends and away we go! Alternatively, meet new people who are all wanting to learn a new creative skill at the same time as you.
What does it cost?

Just £20 for the paint, wax, tuition and postage! (If you can click and collect from the shop, this will be less) You can, of course buy a brush if you don’t have one, coloured waxes or sanding pads for a distressed finish, but the choice is yours. I will need a minimum of four people to run this session and a maximum of eight. The session would be approximately 2 hours, and could be daytime or evening, I’ll go by the demand. Discounts for groups of 6-8

And ta-da...here is what you could end up with at the end of the workshop!
